Email sender domains connecting to USA.NET servers must have a valid DNS record.
Email servers connecting to USA.NET email servers must be secured to prevent unauthorized or anonymous use.
Direct connections from dynamically assigned IP addresses to USA.NET mail servers may not be accepted. This is usually residential or business internet connections without a static IP address.
In addition to USA.NET's proprietary block list, we block email originating from IP addresses listed with the following spam control services:
Bulk mailings should specifically state within the email how the USA.NET customer's email addresses were obtained and indicate the frequency of the mailing. Details such as the date and time when the email address was obtained along with the IP address of the subscriber and the web site they visited to sign-up must be made available to USA.NET upon request.
Bulk mailings must contain simple and obvious unsubscribe mechanisms. We recommend this be in the form of a working link to a one-click unsubscribe system; however, a valid "reply to:" address may be used instead.
USA.NET blocks identified bulk email servers if the delivery failure rate is 50% or higher, meaning 50% or more of the attempted email addresses do not exist. A feedback loop is available for opt-in bulk senders who wish to register their email servers to allow notification of delivery issues that could result in a block of the server. Notification of delivery issues will be sent to the email address of preference.
All subscription based email must have valid, non-electronic, contact information for the sending organization in the text of each email including phone number and a physical mailing address.
All bulk email to USA.NET customers must be solicited, meaning that the sender has an existing and provable relationship with the email recipient and the recipient has not requested not to receive future mailings from the sender. Documentation of the relationship between the sender and the recipient must be made available to USA.NET upon request.
Persons sending bulk mail from the registered IP Address must immediately remove any email address which causes a permanent failure "bounce" message to be generated.
In no way does the posting of these requirements imply any affiliation, membership, sponsorship or endorsement of business or activities/practices of an organization by USA.NET.
Periodic audits of mail, compliant, bounce and bounce acceptance volumes may result in removal of an IP Address or of an organization's IP Addresses from USA.NET's feedback loop without notice.
